Less data, same relevance : optimizing paired comparisons sensory evaluation
Sensometrics | October 6th to 9th | Session: Getting more out of sensory and consumer data
Paired comparisons are widely used in pet food sensory evaluation. Indeed, two-bowl test methodology is a standard to study animal preferences. However, the simplicity of this method is counterbalanced by the high number of pairs that each subject has to evaluate to obtain robust results.
At Sensometrics, Julien Rogues, Statistician for Diana Pet Food, will present a way to optimize pet food sensory evaluation by reducing the number of animals or pairs, without decreasing the statistical relevance of the analysis.
The proposed method could allow comparing a high number of products with a limited number of tests, leading to both cost and time savings.
