Evaluation of antioxidants and antimicrobials from plant extracts in oils and fats

Lipid oxidation and microbial development are a major concern in pet food. Furthermore, consumers are increasingly asking for natural solutions as an alternative to synthetic preservatives. As a consequence, pet food manufacturers are now tasked with finding natural antioxidants and antimicrobials extracts able to improve the efficacy of their protection system.
During her talk at AOCS, Charlotte Deyrieux, Research Project Manager specialist of pet food protection @Diana Pet Food, will present a new method to evaluate the antioxidant and antimicrobial efficiency of natural plants extracts used in oils and fats.
