Innovation in pet food stabilization: selecting the right natural antioxidants for rendering meals and stabilizing pet foods from the beginning

Oxidation is a major challenge faced by the rendering and pet food industries. It happens in virtually all manufacturing processes and during products storage. It cannot be stopped, but it can be slowed down by the use of antioxidants, added as early as possible, starting from the rendering step.
Nicolas Coneggo, R&D scientist for Videka, will present how the pre-cooking addition of natural antioxidants during poultry meal manufacturing enables to better protect pet food. Moreover he will present results of shelf-life and imaging studies that demonstrate the benefit of using innovative delivery systems containing oil and water soluble antioxidants during kibble manufacturing.
